Project Description

In partnership with the Low Impact Development Center,
Throwe Environmental (TE) is working with St. Mary’s County and Naval Air Station Patuxent River (NAS PAX) to perform a Military Installation Resilience Review (MIRR). Funded by the Department of Defense’s OLDCC, this project will explore how to enhance the resilience of NAS PAX by way of enhancing the resilience of surrounding St. Mary’s County.

TE will conduct in-depth research, engage stakeholders, and host a Peer-to-Peer Leadership Exchange with Naval Station Newport (RI) to develop a comprehensive implementation and funding framework to enhance community resilience. The final report will include information on climate hazards, vulnerable assets, recommended resilience actions and project portfolio, and funding and financing recommendations to guide project implementation.
