Long Island Sound Futures Fund Opportunities for the CT River Watershed

Communities throughout the Connecticut River basin face increasing challenges related to water quality and nutrient loading, with impacts felt across the watershed and ultimately in Long Island Sound. The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Long Island Sound Futures Fund (LISFF) aims to improve water quality and foster resilient communities, all with the ultimate goal of supporting the health and living resources of the Sound. LISFF has approximately $12 million available in 2024 for planning, design, and implementation projects, including for nitrogen reduction and prevention. Attendees of this session will learn about opportunities for Upper Basin communities in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and inland Connecticut to access LISFF funding. Attendees will learn how they can collaborate with the LISFF Field Liaison team to develop proposals and access free technical assistance.
