Navigating Resilience Grant Funding for Oregon’s Tribal and Coastal Communities

This workshop will help participants navigate the overwhelming number of funding opportunities that are available with passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The half day forum aims to bring together various federal, state, and philanthropic partners who will share important details about existing and upcoming grant announcements. You will hear directly from funders, learn important tips for creating a competitive proposal, connect with partners, hear about opportunities to address match requirements, and have a chance to meet directly with funders to discuss projects and learn more about available funding opportunities.

Welcome Remarks - Working Together to Address Coastal Challenges
A quick overview of local challenges, followed by steps and actions the State of Oregon and partners are taking to align resources and funding. (Lisa Phipps, Oregon DLCD Coastal Management Program Manager)

Navigating State Programs and Resources
Oregon state agencies will highlight important resources and program funding with important details on structure, timelines, grant tips, and potential matching funds. Invited guests include representatives from Department of Land Conservation and Development, Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, and others.

Grant Funding Spotlight - The National Coastal Resilience Fund
Overview - The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) will discuss details about a 2023 grant program estimated at $140M to support coastal resilience and fish, wildlife, and habitat projects. (Jessica Grannis, NCRF Program Director)

Tips for Making your Proposal More Competitive
Field liaisons for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation will offer useful proposal tips followed by funders and webinar participants engaging in a facilitated discussion on what it takes to make a more compelling and competitive proposal. (Joanne Throwe and Mark Belton, Throwe Environmental)

Navigating Federal Programs and Resources
With unprecedented amounts of funding coming from federal programs, agencies will share brief highlights about grant programs to support coastal resilience and fish, wildlife, and habitat projects. Invited guests include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and more.
