Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah)
Throwe Environmental helped the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) finalize a Tribal Climate Adaptation Plan to guide the Tribe’s efforts in becoming more resilient to sea-level rise, erosion, flooding, and other climate-driven hazards. The plan prioritizes next steps for action and establishes a pathway toward funding and implementing priority projects.
Throwe also worked with the WTGHA to host a regional Tribal Leadership Exchange on Martha’s Vineyard in May 2022. In conjunction with this in-person event, Throwe captured the experiences and stories of Tribal Elders, leaders, and members in Season 2 of “The Leadership Exchange Podcast.” The podcast provides audio case studies, capturing the very changes Tribal members have seen in their climate, as well as potential actions to address those changes.
The most recent season of “The Leadership Exchange Podcast” features the WTGHA. Listeners will hear from Tribal members and leaders as we explore the climate-driven changes they are seeing on their land, and potential solutions to address those changes. Listen nowThe Leadership Exchange Podcast
