DESCRIPTION:A virtual workshop brought to you by the University of Vermont’s Watershed Forestry Partnership and the LISFF Field Liaison Team at Throwe Environmental.\n\nDate: Thursday, May 15, 2025\nTime: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM ET\nLink: *Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants prior to the event.\nAs federal resources become limited and more competitive, this virtual workshop is designed to introduce prospective applicants to the Long Island Sound Futures Fund (LISFF) ( https://www.nfwf.org/programs/long-island-sound-futures-fund?activeTab=tab-2 ) grant program, a regional funding program operated by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF). This workshop will be tailored to applicants in eastern Vermont, specifically those in the LIS watershed/Connecticut River Basin.\nAttendees will learn about the LISFF funding program, including program priorities, eligibility, typical projects, funding specifications, and evaluation criteria. Attendees will hear valuable tips, tricks, and lessons learned for developing competitive grant proposals that will be applicable to a variety of NFWF and other funding sources. Additionally, there will be ample time for Q&A, where attendees will have the chance to brainstorm project ideas and ask project-specific questions ahead of the 2025 LISFF Request for Proposals deadline on May 29, 2025.\nThis workshop is being sponsored by the Watershed Forestry Partnership ( https://www.uvm.edu/seagrant/watershed-forestry-partnership#:~:text=The%20Watershed%20Forestry%20Partnership%20facilitates,in%20the%20Lake%20Champlain%20basin. ) and will feature presenters from the LISFF Field Liaisons at Throwe Environmental ( https://throwe-environmental.com/ ).
